In this website I will be talking about different types of cats as well as their relationship to each other and their differences.

I will be discussing the different cats that I own as well as classify what kind of cat they are and the benefit of each breed.

American Short Hair
One of the most common types of cats is the American Short Hair
It is believed to descended from European cats that have been brought to North America by early settlers. They used these cats to protect valuable cargo from mice and rats. These types of cats are generally not very athletic but what they make up in athletics they make up in a large, powerfully-built body. They are also seen as a true breed of working cat, according to the breed standards of Cat Fanciers' Association.

Siamese Cat
A natural breed cat that originally comes from Thailand and are known to have an average life span of 11-15 years. Siamese cats are also known to be highly intelligent, agile and love to play. They are also known to be quite the chatter boxes, so if getting a cat that likes to talk isn't your cup of tea then a siamese would not be a good choice for you!

British Shorthair
The British Shorthair is a native cat from England. With mass devastation happening during World War II, not much of the breed remained. It was't until the help of other breeds did the British Shorthair finally revitalize.

Maine Coon
The Maine Coon is one of the largest domesticated breeds. It has a very distinctive appearance as well as valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America. It is most noteable "native" to the state of Maine.

Persian Cat
The Persian cat is an old, long haired cat that was imported from Iran. The average life span of these cats is about 10 to 15 years. In 2015 this breed of cat was rated the 2nd most popular breed in the United States. This breed of cat was also classified as an "Exotic Breed."
