Cortana

An AI (artificial Intelligence) is a machines way of learning natural language to sense, comprehend, act and learn on a human level. Cortana is a virtual assistant created by Microsoft that is voice activated and can help with various tasks. The development of Cortana started in 2009 in the Microsoft Speech products team with general manager Zig Serafin and Chief Scientist Larry Heck. Heck and Serafin established the vision, mission, and long-range plan for Microsoft's digital personal assistant and they built a team with the expertise to create the initial prototypes for Cortana. Cortana is named after an AI in microsofts franchise HALO.

Microsoft is also working on plenty of ways for AI to better help with everyday life such as protecting wildlife, transforming healthcare, feeding the world, and preserving history.

Siri

Siri is another virtual assistant created by Apple. Siri is found on most to all IOS devices and is voice activated and can help with everyday needs. Siri was acquired by Apple Inc. in April 2010 under the direction of Steve Jobs. Apple's first notion of a digital personal assistant was originally a concept video in 1987, called the Knowledge Navigator. Siri is named after a coworker at Apple in Norway.


Google AI-Googles mission is to organize the worlds information, and by using Google assistant which debuted in may of 2016, it has made it easier to gather and distribute vital information to those who need it.
